Neuroimaging

EEG activity for each client is recorded on the Deymed Tru Scan 32 QEEG system.

The qEEG data that is recorded is analyzed using Neuroguide software, and swLORETA for analysis of the data. The Neuroguide normative database spans the age range from 2 months to 82 years, and has been used repeatedly in hundreds of studies over more than a 35 year period of time, including the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, VA medical centers and universities throughout the world.

swL.O.R.E.T.A. analysis provides information about where within the brain information measured at the surface is derived from. There are billions of connections within the human brain, and each brain is somewhat unique. Through analysis of individual networks within the brain, swLORETA identifies both surface and deeper brain structures and their connections, indicating which ones relative to the clinical symptoms presented are greater than 2 standard deviations outside of the normal range. From this information, an individualized protocol for neurofeedback training can be developed that takes into consideration the clinical picture as it corresponds to the unique characteristics of each individual brain.
